Caribou Lake (near Poplar)

Caribou Lake is a medium-sized lake in the eastern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Most easily reached through Lizz Lake from Poplar Lake and the Gunflint Trail, Caribou has eight campsites.

Connections
- A 73 rod portage connects Caribou to Lizz Lake to the north, the most direct route out of the wilderness.
- A 12 rod portage followed by a 21 rod portage leads northwest to Meeds Lake, which has further connections to Swallow Lake and then Pillsbery Lake.
- A 155 rod portage heads northeast to Swamp Lake.
- A well-traveled 20 rod portage heads south to Horseshoe Lake. Horseshoe provides access to Allen, Vista, and Gaskin lakes.
