Hanson Lake lies between Ester Lake and the South Arm of Knife Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

  • The connection to Ester Lake is a shallow channel, which can usually be paddled without portaging.
  • A downhill portage connects to the South Arm of Knife Lake.
