Canoe routes
Ottertrack Lake is on the historic Border Route, and recieves quite a bit of canoe traffic. Knife Lake and Ottertrack Lake make up the easiest route between the Ely area and the Gunflint Trail area.
Besides the Border Route and connections into the Quetico, the Ester-Hanson corridor provides access to the South Arm of Knife Lake.
