Plants

• Eastern White Pine, the tallest tree in the Boundary Waters, with dark gray bark and soft needles.
• Jack Pine, a "scruffy" pine tree dependent on fire for successful reproduction.
• Red Pine, or Norway Pine, a tall tree typically found on rocky ridges and islands.

Animals

• Pine marten, a weasel-like animal.

Locations

• Pine Lake, a long, narrow lake in the northeastern BWCAW near McFarland Lake and the Arrowhead Trail.
• Pine Lake, in the sowestern BWCAW near Lake Vermilion and Trout Lake.
• The Pine River, which flows north out of Magnetic Lake and joins the Granite River before flowing into Saganaga Lake.
